Re: betty crocker biscuit mix

I also was looking for the Betty Crocker biscuit mix and after contacting them was informed via e mail that it was discontinued due to a lack of demand for the product.  I was disappointed to say the least.  If they found that the 5 lb box was not selling well since, lets face it that is a lot of biscuits then why not offer it in smaller containers.

Re: betty crocker biscuit mix

I am another disappointed customer, I did purchase the bisquick mix at Sam's but as everyone else I can no longer find it.

Why can't they put the same restaurant style mix in the small box if that is what it takes. I always purchased several boxes and kept them in my freezer. If I had known it was going to be discontinued I would have purchased a lot more.

Please Betty Crocker bring it back.

Re: betty crocker biscuit mix

I and several other members of my family and many of my friends are devoted,"Restaurant Style Buttermilk Biscuit Mix" users.  We have always found this at Sams Club, but have recently been very disappointed to learn that Betty Crocker is no longer making this product.  Please let us know if bombarding the Betty Crocker company with emails and/or phone calls will help to bring this wonderful product back to our kitchens.  Believe me, I know lots of people who will be willing to protest the deletion of our biscuit mix.  FYI: Bisquick mix doesn't compete or even come close to being as good as the other.

Re: betty crocker biscuit mix

I just joined here in the hopes that SOMEONE from Betty Crocker would read this and take to a high level meeting of executives who have the power to DO SOMETHING about this problem for us consumers.   PLEASE LISTEN to the public when we talk about how much we loved the Betty Crocker Restaurant Style Biscuit Mix.   It's been the only mix I've used for years and can't find it on any website, now that Sam's has discontinued it.    My family, friends and ANYONE who's been to breakfast at my house have always raved about the biscuits...and it's like you've taken a tradition away from us.   If it's true that Betty Crocker quit making it and have replaced it with their Bisquick brand, then I want them to know that BISQUICK is lousy for making biscuits and I'll never buy another box of it.   I did try it again, after I realized I couldn't find the Restaurant Style mix, and I immediately threw the box away.   It's absolutely awful for biscuits and should be taken off the label.  Please come back with the restaurant style mix, even if it's in a smaller box or pouch.   I, too, would have bought every remaining box of the Restaurant Style mix had I known they were going to discontinue it.   If there's a stash of it somewhere please let us know!!

They aren't the same! Your search engine says you have "Betty Crocker Biscuit Mix" at 8 local locations, but they are all just Bisquick! Don't send people driving around on a goose chase!

Re: betty crocker biscuit mix

Ditto to everyone who is upset - we are verklemt about this. Rather than kill the product (which is generaly considered to be the tastiest biscuit mix around) how about UPDATING the packaging, MARKETING it a little bit (I have never seen a oupon, print ad, or commercial for it), and making SINGLE USE packages as is the trend with every other product in the category. The product isn't bad, the MARKETING TEAM blew it with this one.

Bring it back. Sell it properly.

Re: betty crocker biscuit mix

I, too, am very disappointed that I can not find the Betty Crocker biscuit mix.  It is the best one can buy.  Bisquick is a joke for biscuits.  I have searched several states for the Betty Crocker mix without success only to find it is discontinued.  I certainly hope Betty Crocker and General Mills take note of this outcry and brings back the original product.  I, too, think the marketing folks goofed.  Make your wrong a right.

Re: betty crocker biscuit mix

I checked with consumer services, and here is the reply:

Thank you for contacting General Mills. We are sorry you encountered so much difficulty in attempting to find the product you were looking for.

Unfortunately, due to lack of sales, this product was discontinued and is no longer available.

We regret any inconvenience this caused and hope you continue to enjoy the many other products we offer.

Sorry about that!

Re: betty crocker biscuit mix

My husband and I agree wholeheartedly with your feelings about the discontinuance of this mix.  We made trips to Sam's just to buy this mix.  I never buy biscuit mix because I have never found any to be worth the effort.  I always made them from scratch.  When we purchased this mix, we never made any from scratch again!

I don't understand why this product was never offered except through Sam's.  The only customers who knew about this product were the only who belonged to Sam's Club.  You must have a membership to get into the store.  It is also an aggravation to have to travel 25 miles to our nearest Sam's just to buy a box of biscuit mix.  Many more people would purchase this quality product if it were available at Wal-Mart, Kroger's and other similar supermarkets.  Advertising would make people aware of this product.  As good as this mix is, minimal advertising would be required because no other mix even comes close to the quality of the Restaurant Style Biscuit Mix.

I cannot understand why the company did not replace Bisquick with this product instead of purposely not advertising and educating the public.  I am sure it has a lot to do with investment in the Bisquick product.  I hope enough people request reinstatement of this product that the company reconsiders and develops a better strategy of marketing this excellent product.

Re: betty crocker biscuit mix

I have read all the mesages from your consumers and Betty Crocker replys.

WOW!!! How can the supply not be there? I have bought this product for years at Sams Club and recentley went to purchase more and POW No Such thing!

The large size did not bother me, I usually bought 4-5 boxes at a time and put the extra in freezer to keep fresh and keep mealy bugs out. It did great in freezer, just like cornmeal and flour.

I along with many more consumers would purchase this in large or smaller quainities if you distributed in grocery stores along side Bisquik. I promise it would not take long for people to find out that you brand makes Bisqick taste like crap.

I know I would have purchased it more often if I had not had to go 60 plus miles to the Sams Club.

I hope at a time in the very near future Betty Crocker decides to make the smart move and distribute this in all grocery stores making it available to the normal consumer. Believe me word of mouth alone would be the best advertising.

Put me down as another of your disapointed consumers. I will now lose my title as best biscuit maker in the family. My whole family said my chese biscuits make with your product were better than any resturant made.

PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring it BACK!!!!!

Re: betty crocker biscuit mix

Has any one tried the Krusteez brand of the buttermilk biscuit mix?  I know it is a buttermilk base, however it is in a large package and I am hesitant to purchase it due to it's size.

Re: betty crocker biscuit mix

I just came from Sam's so disappointed after making a special trip to buy the biscuit mix!  I was horrified to find that they no longer had any and even more so when I came here and found out it has been discontinued.  Bisquick makes awful biscuits!!  I know they could sell this in the smaller boxes!!!  I sure hope the powers that be read this message board and see how many of us relied on that mix!
