Giving Thanks for the Harvest
This sophisticated menu features a tribute to the roots of Thanksgiving--root vegetables, that is. The vegetables in these recipes--mashed, roasted and in the stuffing--will entice even picky eaters. And remember, the rich dessert finale is worth saving room for.
Make It Special!
A Cornucopia of Good Taste
- Decorate your holiday table with a Pastry Cornucopia. Fill the completely edible cornucopia with Cinnamon Apple Rolls or with dinner rolls, cookies, candies, flowers or whole fresh fruit.
- If you fill the cornucopia with candies, you can offer it as a take-home gift.
Family Ties, Family Trees
- With more and more family members living miles apart, gathering at Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to share more than just a football game.
- Begin recording your family history, confirming notes and sharing stories so that you have a genealogy or scrapbook to pass onto generations, no matter where they live.
- E-mail, computer programs, cameras and video camcorders will greatly assist you with compiling this family history.
